PYRAMIDS BEAT YOUNG AFRICANS 2-0 IN PLAY-OFF ROUND'S FIRST LEG

Egyptian Premier League outfit Pyramids FC have defeated Tanzania's Young Africans SC 2-1 in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup’s play-off round.
Pyramids’ first real chance of the game came in the 37th minute when Mohamed Farouk’s effort was cleared off the line by Young African defenders.
Five minutes later, Farouk was on the scene again when he produced a fine cross for Dodo El-Gabbas, who laid it off for Erik Traore as the Burkinabé struck the ball into the back of the net to score the opening goal for his side.
In the 57th minute, Farouk dribbled his way into the Young Africans’ box as the Tanzanian side thought the ball had gone out of play for a throw-in.
However, the 30-year-old continued his run and squared the ball to a free Abdullah El-Said who doubled Pyramids’ lead.
The hosts managed to reduce the deficit a minute before full-time when Papy Kabamba Tshishimbi scored to make it 2-1.
Pyramids will face Young Africans again next week when they host the Tanzanian side in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup’s play-off round. Kick-off takes place at 20:00 CLT
