Sudan leader commends Mali's support to the war-torn country

Bamako, Mali

President of the Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council (SUNA), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, praised the positions of the Republic of Mali in support of Sudan in all international and regional forums and its keenness on the sovereignty, unity and stability of Sudan.

Al-Burhan said, in press statements to the media in the Republic of Mali at the conclusion of his visit to Bamako, “We express our thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Assimi Goïta, President of the Republic of Mali, for the warm reception and generous hospitality, which indicates and expresses an old and strong relationship and sincere intentions towards Sudan.”

He stressed that his visit to Mali came within the framework of enhancing cooperation between Sudan and African countries, solidarity, brotherhood and supporting the national sovereignty of African countries.

“It also aims to open horizons for joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields.” He told the press.

He underscored the importance of unifying political positions in international and regional forums towards the issues of the African continent and seeking solutions to the continent's concerns within the African home, calling for the necessity to strengthen the regional and international organizations.

Al-Burhan added, "We welcome all that has been proposed regarding the future cooperation between the two countries, underlining Sudan's keenness to build strong and solid relations with the Republic of Mali to serve the interests of the two countries and strengthen national positions.”

He announced that the two countries’ leaders have agreed to form joint ministerial committees to support and enhance the future of joint cooperation between them.
