Yanga beats Simba 2-0 to clinch 4th consecutive Tanzania Premier League championship

Young Africans have successfully defended the NBC Tanzania Mainland Premier League championship for the fourth consecutive season and the 31st time in total after a 2-0 victory over their rivals, Simba SC, this evening at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Congratulations to Ivory Coast midfielder, Pacome Zouzoua who scored the first goal before setting up the second goal scored by Tanzanian international striker, Clement Mzize, both in the second half.

Pacome scored his goal with a penalty kick in the 66th minute, beating Simba SC goalkeeper Mousa Camara well after he was fouled in the box by the number one goalkeeper of the Guinean national team ‘National Elephants’.

Later in the 88th minute, Pacome broke through the defence quickly and tactically provide a super pass to Mzize who in turn broke through Camara to record the second goal.

Referee Mohamed Omar, who officiated the match professionally, was assisted by his fellow Egyptians, Mahmoud Ahmed Abo El Regal and Samir Gamal Saad Mohamed along with the fourth referee, also Egyptian, Ahmed Mahrous El Ghandour at the table.

With the victory, Yanga SC reaches 82 points and finishes at the top of the Premier League standings, ahead of their compatriots, Simba who remain with 78 points after 30 matches of the season.

Yanga SC's squad was: Djigui Diarra, Israel Patrick Mwenda, Chadrack Boka, Ibrahim Abdullah, Dickson Job, Khalid Aucho, Maxi Nzengeli/Clatous Chama (72), Duke Abuya, Prince Dube/Clement Mzize (46), Mudathir Yahya/Salum Abubakar (90'+2) and Pacome Zouzoua/Jonathan Ikangalombo (90'+2).

Simba SC' squad:  Mousa Camara, Shomari Kapombe/Valentin Nouma (80), Mohamed Hussein, Che Malone Fondoh, Karaboue Chamou/Awesu Ally (67), Yusuph Kagoma/Abdurazak Hamza (55), Joshua Mutale/Kibu Dennis (46), Fabrice Ngoma, Steven Mukwala/Leonel Ateba (55), Jean Charles Ahoua and Elly Mpanzu.
