DOHA, Qatar

The road to continental glory is set as the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup Quarter-Finals Draw was officially conducted today, revealing some thrilling matchups for African football fans.

The draw, which took place in a high-profile ceremony, set the stage for an intense knockout phase as eight clubs battle for supremacy in the prestigious competition.

The draw produced exciting encounters, including a South African-Egyptian showdown, an all-Algerian derby, and a test of strength between West and North African giants. Here’s how the teams will line up:

Stellenbosch (South Africa) vs Zamalek (Egypt)

South African side Stellenbosch will face a tough challenge as they take on five-time CAF Champions League winners Zamalek. The Egyptian giants, who are among the favorites for the title, will rely on their experience, but Stellenbosch will look to make history with a strong performance at home.

ASEC Mimosas (Ivory Coast) vs RS Berkane (Morocco)

A battle between two of Africa’s well-established clubs sees ASEC Mimosas locking horns with RS Berkane. The Ivorian club, known for its rich history in continental football, will need to overcome the two-time Confederation Cup champions from Morocco in what promises to be a tactical showdown.

Club Sportif Constantinois (Algeria) vs USM Alger (Algeria)

It’s an all-Algerian affair as Club Sportif Constantinois faces defending champions USM Alger. This North African derby will not only be a battle for supremacy but also a clash of pride, with both clubs aiming to establish dominance in Algerian and continental football.

Al-Masry SC (Egypt) vs Simba SC (Tanzania)

Egyptian side Al-Masry SC welcomes Simba SC in another intriguing contest. The Tanzanian outfit has grown into a formidable force in recent years and will be eager to upset Al-Masry as they chase continental glory.

This means a possible Egyptian derby in the semi-finals or a chance for a new champion to emerge in the tournament.

With the stakes higher than ever, all eyes will be on the quarter-final fixtures as teams battle for a place in the last four. The first leg matches are set to take place in April 2025, with the return legs scheduled a week later.
